My Career as a French Professor in China

After earning my Bachelor’s degree and my Master’s degree in FLE–FLS–FOS (French as a Foreign, Second, and Professional Language) from the University of Artois, I began my teaching career in China.

I joined Xiangtan University in southern China, where I taught undergraduate students across all four years of the Bachelor’s program. I was in charge of two classes per cohort.

My courses covered a wide range of language competencies, including oral comprehension and speaking, reading and writing skills, audiovisual comprehension, and French culture. This role allowed me to develop a comprehensive, skills-based teaching approach aligned with university curricula.

Following this experience, I joined Peking University, which is the 1st university in China and 16th in the world, where I taught students specializing in French studies.
Alongside the courses I had already delivered in Xiangtan, I taught an additional class dedicated to press reading and media analysis.

Afterwards, I taught at South China University of Technology as part of a French language program designed for engineering students.

The objective was to train undergraduate engineering students from Year 1 to Year 3 to achieve the DELF B2 certification. This qualification enabled them to pursue further studies and gain admission to engineering schools in France.

South China University of Technology is recognized as one of China’s leading universities in engineering and is ranked among the top 20 universities nationwide in this field.
